Cab Driver Shot and Robbed in the Bronx

Police are searching for a gunman who shot a livery cab driver during a robbery in the Bronx Wednesday.

According to police, the gunman approached the victim on Longfellow Avenue in Hunts Point around 11 a.m., shot him in the shoulder and hand and took his phone and money.

The driver, a father of two, was robbed of $60, according to the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers.

The driver then drove after the suspect and struck the robber with his car, the union said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
