Police Seek Suspect in Brooklyn Subway Steps Rape

Police said the suspect grabbed a 37-year-old woman, assaulted her on the steps in the area of Stanhope Street and Wyckoff Avenue, then fled

Police are searching for a man wanted in the rape of a woman on a set of subway steps in Brooklyn last Friday.

It happened at about 3:50 a.m. Friday, April 6 at the DeKalb Avenue L-train stop in Bushwick. Police said the suspect grabbed a 37-year-old woman, assaulted her on the steps in the area of Stanhope Street and Wyckoff Avenue, then fled.

The suspect has short black hair and brown eyes, and a scar below his left lip, police say. He was wearing lime green sneakers, a black bubble  vest and blue jeans during the attack.
