The man beaten outside a Brooklyn restaurant last week following an argument with another man has died, and the case is now being investigated as a homicide as police continue to search for the suspect, authorities say.
The victim, 42-year-old Jose Guzman of Canarsie, Brooklyn, had gotten into an argument with another man outside the Bushwick restaurant La Fogata at about 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, police said. The dispute escalated and the other man punched and kicked Guzman.
Guzman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He died Tuesday, police said.
Police are continuing to search for the suspect, seen in the surveillance image above, and are now also looking to speak with another man seen in the video -- the one wearing glasses and adjusting his bag -- talking to the suspect.
