4 Shot in Brooklyn Precinct in 3 Days: NYPD

Police are investigating the shootings of two men in the same Brooklyn area where a baby was shot and a man was fatally shot over the weekend.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 22-year-old man was shot in the torso at Bedford and Clarkson avenues in the Prospect Lefferts Garden section of Brooklyn Monday evening, according to police.

They were said to be in stable condition. It's not clear if they were targeted in the shootings.

Police said they haven't identified any suspects yet.

Neighbors call the recent shootings "scary."

"The last couple of years, the neighborhood as a whole has changed for the better, but even within that, there's been a whole lot of incidents like this here and there," said Frank Hoppie.

On Saturday, a 1-year-old girl was grazed in the leg near 625 Rugby Rd. in nearby Flatbush, and about 10 minutes later and a mile away, 18-year-old Donel Andrew was fatally shot in the stomach, in front of 925 Flatbush Ave.

Both were taken by ambulance to Kings County Hospital. The infant's injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

No arrests have been made in those shootings, police say.

All four shootings took place in the NYPD's 70th Precinct. The cutting-edge bullet location technology called Shot Spotter -- which uses audio sensors to recognize gunshots -- was activated in the Prospect Lefferts Garden area at the time of the shooting on Bedford Avenue, police said.

"I hope they can nip it in the bud and get it out of here, because it's a great neighborhood otherwise," said Hoppie.
