5 Wounded, 1 Killed in 2 Separate Shootings in Brooklyn: Police

Two separate shootings in the New Lots and Crown Heights sections of Brooklyn left five people wounded and one dead

Six people were shot in two separate shootings in Brooklyn Sunday, police say.

Two teenagers were shot around 5 p.m. in the borough's New Lots section, one fatally, by a man wearing all-black clothing and a ski mask, according to police. He got out of a tan or brown four-door sedan in front of 768 Miller Ave., shot the teens, then got back into the vehicle and fled, police said.

An 18-year-old man was shot twice in the chest and a 16-year-old boy was shot once in the right leg, according to police. They were both taken to Brookdale Hospital, where the 18-year-old victim was pronounced dead. The boy is in stable condition.

Police were searching for the suspected shooter, as well as the getaway driver, described as a heavyset woman.

Several hours later four people were shot in Crown Heights on Lincoln Place, police said.

A female victim was shot in the leg; it wasn't immediately clear where the other victims were shot or how serious the injuries were.

Two people were taken to Brookdale Hospital, and two others were taken to Kings County Hospital, according to authorities.
