Witnesses told News 4 that one of the victims was a barber, and police said another victim was a building superintendent. They said that the men ran for help after being hit by the gunfire.

Zima Louis said she was finishing up her day at a nearby beauty salon with her son when she heard the distinctive "pop, pop, pop" of gunfire.

"(My son) said, 'Mom, there's shots outside,'" she said. "I'm like, 'Come back inside! Come back inside!'"

It was not clear what sparked the drive-by shooting. It also remains to be seen if the shootings were connected to a pair of others in the borough Tuesday night.

No arrests have been made, but police said an unknown man was seen fleeing the shooting scene in a blue and white car.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
