Lightning Caused 3-Alarm Bed-Stuy Fire: FDNY

The FDNY says a three-alarm blaze that ripped through several brownstones in Bedford-Stuyvesant early Thursday was caused by a lightning strike.

Homes in five brownstones were affected by the blaze, which erupted shortly after 3 a.m.

No injuries were reported and the fire was contained within about two hours.

The Red Cross said it was assisting about 10 families at the scene. One neighbor said all the residents in the affected homes had lived on the Pulaski Street block for at least two decades.
