Brooklyn Fifth Grader Returns Wallet Stuffed With Cash

What would you do if you found a wallet stuffed with $500 cash? A Brooklyn boy knew exactly what to do. He returned it.

Fifth-grader Kemoy Gourzang was walking to school through East Flatbush last week when he found a wallet on the sidewalk with at least $500.

Instead of pocketing the money, Kemoy took the wallet right to the school principal at Public School 198 in East Flatbush.

"Five kids told me, 'You should have kept it,'" Kemoy told the New York Daily News. "I said, 'No, because if it was yours, you would have wanted it back.'"

Joy-Ann Morgan, principal of  Kemoy's school, found a business card inf the wallet and called the owner, who hadn't noticed it was missing yet.

The businessman who lost the wallet went to the school and asked to meet the honest boy who returned the wallet.

For his reward, Kemoy got $100 from the grateful wallet owner. The boy admitted he was hoping for a reward, but he wasn't expecting it to be so mush.

Kemoyj, 10, went straight to Toys 'R' Us where he spent half his reward on a game and accessories for his Nintendo Wii.

Kemoy's mother Avolyn Jones, 40, was proud of her son.

"I'm proud. I always told him, 'Honesty is the best policy,'" she told the Daily News.
