Wreck Kills Brooklyn Dad Taking Son to SUNY Buffalo

52-year-old Rufus Famotibe was killed when his 19-year-old son Samuel drove into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a pickup truck at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday

Police say a father from Brooklyn has been killed in a car wreck while taking his son to college in western New York.

Wayne County Sheriff's deputies tell the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that 52-year-old Rufus Famotibe was killed when his 19-year-old son Samuel drove into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a pickup truck at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
 
The accident happened in the town of Rose, 37 miles east of Rochester. The men were on their way to the University of Buffalo.
 
Samuel Famotibe was hospitalized with injuries that deputies say aren't life-threatening. Two men in the pickup were also hurt.
 
The investigation is continuing. Deputies say it isn't clear why Samuel Famotibe veered out of his lane.
