New Video Shows Brooklyn Carjacking Suspect After 7-Car Crash

Police released surveillance video that shows the suspect wanted in connection with a Brooklyn carjacking who was involved in a seven-car pileup while driving the SUV he had just stolen.

Authorities say the suspect approached a 33-year-old driver as she was stopped at a light near Bedford Avenue and Fenimore Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens around 10:30 p.m. March 30. He flashed a weapon, told her to get out of her 2009 Toyota SUV and, once she did, he hopped into the car and sped off.

About two hours later, police say the suspect, still driving the stolen SUV, was involved in a seven-car collision near Bedford and Clarkson avenues. He then fled with a female passenger.

The newly released surveillance video (above) shows the suspect running away after the crash.

Anyone with information about the carjacking is asked to call Crime Stoppers 1-800-577-TIPS.
