Suspects Sought in Brutal Beating of Bronx Teen

The teen was leaving a McDonald's on Westchester Avenue when the group removed his coat and cell phone and began punching and kicking him

Police are searching for a group of people who robbed and viciously beat a 15-year-old boy in the Bronx.

Authorities said the teen was leaving a McDonald's on Westchester Avenue the night of Jan. 17, when he was approached by the group who removed his coat and cell phone and began punching and kicking him.

The victim was followed into a nearby liquor store, where the suspects continued to assault him. Employees at the liquor store said they were outnumbered and afraid to help.

"He was helpless against 12, 14 guys," the store's owner, Justo Peralta, told NBC 4 New York. "He was left on the floor unconscious, bleeding."

The teen. who was treated at a local hospital, suffered a cut to his left eye and bruises all over his body, authorities said.
     
According to police, the teen did not know his attackers.
