Bronx Gas Station Worker Followed, Beat Up by Man at Pump: Police

A gas station attendant in the Bronx was followed and beat up by a man he talked to at one of the pumps, police say.

Police say on Saturday morning, the employee at a Morrisania gas station saw a man who didn’t work there pumping gas for customers.

The worker told the man he couldn’t do that and then left the station, according to the NYPD.

The suspect followed the worker and punched the victim in the head, officials said. The man tried to take the victim's cash, but was unable to.

The worker suffered bruising and cuts and refused medical attention, police said.

The suspect ran away, heading west on 165th Street, authorities said.

Police released surveillance footage of the man who they say is around 25 years old.

Investigators want anyone who recognizes him to call police with tips.
