Bronx Man Accused of Setting Woman's Face on Fire During Argument Over Money

A Bronx man was arrested after police allege he doused a friend with lighter fluid and set her face on fire during a dispute over money.

William Norwood was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon after police say a 48-year-old woman suffered second-degree burns to her face and hands while at his house early on Wednesday.

Police say the man and woman were hanging out when the woman’s face was burned.

The New York Post reports Norwood allegedly burned the woman because she took $10 from him and refused to give it back.

Norwood’s mother told the Post that the woman set her own face on fire.
