Bronx Apartment Fire Sends 18 to Hospital for Smoke Inhalation

A fire in a Bronx apartment building early Sunday morning sent 15 residents and three firefighters to the hospital with various degrees of smoke inhalation, authorities said.

The fire started at about 12:45 a.m. and was confined to a second-floor apartment at 920 Prospect Avenue in the South Bronx.

All of those suffering smoke inhalation were taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. Information about their conditions was unavailable.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Three people died in three seperate fires Saturday in the Bronx.
