Broadway Stage Carpenter Death Under Investigation

New York City police are investigating the death of a stage carpenter on the Broadway show "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."

Police say they responded to a report of a 29-year-old male in cardiac arrest just before 8 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.

The New York Times reported that police believe the man died from an overdose.

The show at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre stars Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette, who in his Broadway debut won a Tony Award for best actor in a featured role in a musical. The Times said the show did not take place and that the two actors apologized to audience members for not being able to perform.
