Boys on MTA Bus Burned by Dripping Chemical: Police

The boys, 5 and 8, are expected to be OK

Two young brothers were taken to the hospital with chemical burns after a cleaning product dripped onto them while they were riding an MTA bus, police say.

The boys, ages 5 and 8, were on a bus in the Forest Hills section of Queens Saturday evening when they were exposed to the liquid being carried by an adult passenger, according to police. It may have been leaking from its container.

The boys were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and are expected to be OK.

The man who was carrying the liquid -- possibly a formula used to clear drains, according to police -- was being questioned, but is not expected to be charged.
