The 13-year-old choir boy who was shot in the head by stray gunfire while waiting for the bus in Brooklyn with his aunt last week last month is singing again, this time in front of a much bigger audience at the Mets-Yankees game at Citi Field.
Gama Droiville will be singing the national anthem at the start of the subway series game Thursday, along with the rest of his choir from the French Speaking Baptist Church in Fort Greene.
Gama was shot twice in the head as a gunman chased a man down Flatbush near Beverley Road on April 14. Doctors said it was a miracle he survived a bullet to the head, and Gama says he's trying to push through what's been a long road to recovery.
"Just taking everything step by step, keep a positive attitude," he said while his choir practiced before the big game Thursday.
Gama admitted he was tired from a long day and doctors appointments, but his father had good news: doctors told them there's a chance the boy may regain limited vision in his right eye.
"His spirit is still strong, and he still have faith that he's going to see again," said Jimmy Marcel.
A 19-year-old man, Kareem Potomont, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting.
