Suffolk County police say a 2-year-old girl has drowned in a swimming pool on Long Island.
Authorities say Arlyn Vanegas-Luna was found unresponsive in an above-ground pool in the backyard of a relative's home in Brentwood. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The child, who lives next door, was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation is continuing.
