Bono Hurts Arm in NYC Cycling Accident

U2 frontman Bono has injured his arm while riding a bicycle in New York City.

Bono took a tumble from his bicycle in Central Park and needed surgery on his arm, the band said Sunday on its website. No details of the accident were provided in the brief statement.

The band was slotted to begin a weeklong residency on NBC's "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" but postponed the appearances after the accident.

"We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back," band members Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen wrote on the site. "Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding."

News of the fall comes only four days after Bono experienced an in-flight scare when the rear hatch fell off the singers Learjet on route from Dublin to Berlin.
