Firefighters discovered the body of a person at a Queens apartment.

They had gone there after receiving a call about a burn victim. But the fire department says there was no fire when they arrived at the Jackson Heights apartment around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The cause of death was not immediately clear. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.

Fire department officials said the victim was burned, but would not elaborate on the extent of the injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.

The person was found in a second-floor apartment of a six-story building at 34-15 74th St.
