Body Recovered From Passaic River ID'd as Missing Person: Police

A body was recovered from the Passaic River in New Jersey Friday, authorities said.

Rutherford police said they got a 911 call from the Nereid Boat Club reporting a body floating in the river at around 5 p.m. Friday.

Responding police and firefighters retrieved the body at Van Winkle Park, and the Bergen County sheriff and prosecutor were able to identify the dead person as a person reported missing at the Wallington Police Department.

Police are not identifying the person until the family is notified.
