De Blasio Raises Most This Period for 2013 Mayoral Race

Christine Quinn still leads the field of Democratic candidates in total fundraising.

Public Advocate Bill de Blasio has raised more money in the last six months than any of the people expected to run against him in the 2013 New York City mayoral campaign.

But Tuesday filings with the Campaign Finance Board show City Council Speaker Christine Quinn retained her lead in the race for campaign cash, topping her opponents with $4.56 million in the bank.

De Blasio raised $976,000 in the six-month campaign filing period that ended Jan. 11, bringing his cash-on-hand to $1.56 million.

Quinn, who raised $483,000 during the period, slowed her fundraising after hitting a campaign-finance limit.

Ex-Comptroller Bill Thompson's campaign says he raised an estimated $650,000. Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer raised $543,000.

Comptroller John Liu, whose finances are under scrutiny in a federal investigation, raised $517,000.
