Biker Charged for Allegedly Punching, Kicking SUV Driver

A biker allegedly seen on video punching and kicking the SUV driver after last weekend's melee has been charged after being questioned by police.

Craig Wright, 29, of Brooklyn, was charged with gang assault, police say. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Several others have already been arrested in the chase that began on the West Side Highway and ended with the beating of the driver, who was with his wife and child.

The confrontation, which was caught on video, erupted after several bikers stopped the Range Rover on the West Side Highway, attacked the vehicle, then chased the driver and pulled him from the car after he plowed over a motorcyclist while trying to escape.

The driver, Alexian Lien, needed stitches after being pummeled by the bikers. Lien's wife said he feared for his family's safety and was trying to flee.

The motorcyclist who was run over remains hospitalized with a broken spine, fractured ribs, a punctured lung and a torn aortic valve. His attorney said he was trying to diffuse the situation when he was struck.
