Bicyclist Wanted in Attack on Hybrid Car Driver in Brooklyn: NYPD

The bicyclist attacked the driver in Greenpoint, authorities say

Police are looking for a man they say erupted into a bout of bicyclist road rage against a Prius driver in Brooklyn.

The bicyclist got into a traffic dispute with a 59-year-old man at about 7:45 p.m. Monday in Greenpoint, police said Wednesday.

The bicyclist struck the man's 2014 Prius with a bike lock and broke the car's mirror, investigators said. He then opened the car door and slugged the driver in the face.

The driver fought back until the bicyclist clubbed him in the head with the lock.

The driver was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center for treatment of cuts to his head and hand.

The bicyclist pedaled away.

Investigators released photos of the bicyclist on Wednesday and anyone with information about him is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
