Suffolk County police say a bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a van Tuesday on Long Island.
Thomas Cosma, 51, of Massapequa was driving a van on Sunset Highway in North Amityville when he struck a bicyclist crossing the roadway around 8:30 p.m., police said.
The cyclist, 20-year-old Xavier Royal of Amityville, was taken by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 631-854-8152.
