A popular bicycling program that was cut from the Westchester County budget has been saved by donations.
Consolidated Edison and Friends of Westchester County Parks announced they were each contributing $20,000 to keep Bicycle Sundays alive.
The program closes a six-mile stretch of the Bronx River Parkway to motorized traffic on selected Sundays, leaving the leafy road to cyclists and others.
About 60,000 people take part each year.
