A courthouse, a municipal building and two community college campuses in Bergen County were evacuated as a precaution Thursday as police investigated multiple bomb threats at the locations, authorities said.
It wasn't clear if the threats were connected, and the nature of the messages wasn't known.
The Bergen County Justice Center, a county administration building, and the Lyndhurst and Paramus campuses of Bergen Community College were evacuated, which is protocol in such situations, officials said.
Bomb-sniffing dogs were brought into the buildings before 11 a.m., and an all-clear was issued within an hour.
The Hackensack Fire Department confirmed it was responding at the Bergen County courthouse. A photo posted on Twitter by a lawyer there showed people waiting outside the courthouse as fire trucks responded.
