Dr. Dre's Beats Headphones New Hot Item for Thieves: Report

Teens are being threatened and beaten up for them, the New York Post said

Beats headphones are the new hot item for thieves in New York City, where teens are being threatened and beaten up for the flashy headgear by Dr. Dre, according to a published report.

The New York Post reported Monday that police say the $300 to $500 headphones are especially enticing in upper Manhattan and norther parts of Brooklyn.

The Post said dozens have been stolen in Brooklyn North alone in the past four months.

In one case, the Post said, a teen was punched in the face after a robber demanded, "Give me your Beats!"

Thieves take them from teens on subways or as they walk to school, the Post said.
