Man Barricaded in Building Across From Brooklyn School: NYPD

Police swarmed a Brooklyn building across from a school Thursday after authorities say a man thought to have a gun barricaded himself inside.

The suspect locked himself in a building on Covert Street in Bushwick, across from the the Anna Gonzalez Community School, after an argument with an uncle shortly before noon, police say.

The man eventually surrendered to police. It's not clear what charges he faces.

Heavily armed police teams and armored vehicles could be seen during the standoff on Covert Street, which is cordoned off.

It's not clear if the standoff has affected school operations.
