Police and federal agents are looking for a man in a construction helmet who robbed a Flatiron District bank at gunpoint in the middle of the day Tuesday.
Authorities say the man, who was also wearing a reflective vest and had a surgical mask over his mouth, walked into the HSBC Bank on Fifth Avenue, showed the teller a demand note and flashed a gun.
The teller handed him cash, which he put in a white shopping bag along with his gun. Then he ran off.
Police released a surveillance image of the suspect (above). A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the FBI at 2120384-1000.
