Police say an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn has been arrested on a drunken-driving charge after he ran a red light.

The incident happened at 4 a.m. Saturday.

Police say officers stopped 31-year-old Chrismy Sagaille for running a red light in the Canarsie neighborhood.

They say Sagaille's breath smelled of alcohol and he appeared to be intoxicated.

Sagaille was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and failing to stop at a red light.

It wasn't clear if he had an attorney who could speak for him.

Sagaille has been an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn since 2013.
