Arrests Follow Cocaine Showdown in College Dorm

Hofstra University is reeling over the arrests of several students on drug and weapons charges after a showdown over cocaine in a school dorm room.

Police say the episode unfolded Thursday night when two 19-year-old students at the Long Island school burst into a fellow student's room carrying realistic looking pellet guns and grabbed drugs, jewelry and cash before escaping in a getaway car.

The robbery victim went to campus security, and wound up being charged himself with illegal drug sales. Police said he had been dealing pills, marijuana and cocaine out of his dorm.

An investigation led to the arrest of the students who wielded the pellet guns as well, along with a pair of alleged accomplices.
