Man Accused of Punching Woman on Subway Platform Arrested: NYPD

A man accused of punching a woman on a subway platform in midtown Manhattan has been arrested, police said Sunday.

Daniel Evans, 45, was arrested Saturday, the NYPD said. He's accused of punching a 30-year-old woman in the side of the head as she walked on the platform at the subway station at 34th Street and Sixth Avenue on Thursday morning.

She was bruised and her face swelled, police said. She refused medical attention.

Evans is also charged with an assault in transit, police said Sunday. Police said he got into an argument April 22 with a 23-year-old man, then hit him in the arm with a pipe.

It wasn't known whether Evans had an attorney.
