Arrest Made in Brooklyn Teenager Slay Caught on Tape

Police arrested the man they believe to be the suspect caught on a surveillance camera shooting a teenager after they both exit an elevator in Brooklyn last month.

Djaban Perry, 20, was arrested in Albany early Tuesday afternoon, police said. Charges filed against him weren't immediately known, and it wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.

It also wasn't immediately apparent what led police to capture Perry in Albany weeks after he allegedly shot 18-year-old Andre Pitts multiple times in the torso, mortally wounding him.

Pitts was pronounced dead at a hospital after the April 17 shooting in a Lot Avenue building in Brownsville.

The surveillance camera shows the suspect, believed to be Perry, following the victim into the elevator. Later, the suspect is seen holding a gun and shooting outside the elevator; the victim is off camera.

The suspect is then seen re-entering the elevator and calmly walking away.
