Armed Robber Fires Shot During Heist at Fort Greene Store: Police

Police are looking for a suspect who fired a gun before stealing $900 in cash from a Fort Greene deli Sunday.

Authorities say the suspect walked into the Myrtle Avenue store around 7:40 p.m., showed the gun and demanded money.

He allegedly fired one round, striking a wall, and then removed the cash from the register before fleeing.

No injuries were reported. The clerk manning the store during the robbery has only been on the job six months, according to an employee working there Monday morning.

The latter employee told NBC 4 New York he belives the heist was the first at the store in 20 years.

Authorities released surveillance video of the suspect (above).

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
