Armed Bandits Targeting Brooklyn Cellphone Shops: Police

New York City police are looking for a small band of thieves involved in a series of armed robberies at mobile phone retailers in Brooklyn.

Investigators released surveillance video of robberies that occurred on Aug. 29 at a T-Mobile Store and s Sept. 10 at an AT&T store at 5021 Church Ave. In both robberies, the suspects forced employees in a back room and made off with cellphones and other electronic devices.

Two and somethimes three suspects have been involved in five robberies since Aug. 29 and have brandished firearms in at least four of them, police said. No one has been injured.

The suspects have opened umbrellas inside the stores at times to shield themselves from surveillance cameras.

In a Sept. 9 robbery at an AT&T outlet at 1913 Kings Highway, the suspects fled in a dark dolored sedan.
