It’s brr-ery cold outside and forecasters are saying it's the coldest air of the season so far settling in.
After a somewhat mild December day, an Arctic blast has pushed into the region, dropping temperatures into the 20s with wind chills in the single digits, Storm Team 4 says. Those temps are not expected to go up as the day goes on either.
The inland areas of the tri-state will not get out of the 20s while the coastal regions will sit right around the freezing mark.
Wednesday will be blustery and cold as wind gusts top out around 30 to 40 miles per hour, according to forecasters. It’s possible isolated gusts could top 40 mph. Some chills could even reach the 0-degree mark.
Thursday will be more of the same, however, there is a possibility of some morning flurries, Storm Team 4 said. Some light accumulation is possible.
Some Friday night snow is possible ahead of a milder weekend under partly cloudy skies.
