The owner and manager of a Bronx building where two firefighters were killed plan to appeal their convictions.
Manager Cesar Rios and the building corporation were convicted Wednesday of criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment. They were acquitted of manslaughter, the most serious charge they had faced.
Authorities said they let tenants subdivide apartments with a deadly maze of illegal walls that trapped the firefighters in January 2005.
Their attorneys say a motion to dismiss the convictions will be filed by March 30.
Rios could face up to five years in prison. The owner, 234 East 178th St. Corp., could be fined up to $15,000.
A separate jury acquitted the tenants of similar charges.
