College Student from NY Killed By Falling Tree Near Yosemite

A college student originally from New York was killed by a falling tree at a popular Jewish summer camp near Yosemite National Park on Wednesday.

Annais Rittenberg, a "beloved member of the Camp Tawonga staff," was killed and four others were injured when the massive tree fell outside of a dining hall on the camp grounds early Wednesday morning, Camp Tawonga officials said in a letter to parents. 

Rittenberg attended the University of California at Santa Cruz where she was to be a senior this year, according to the campus spokesperson.

On her Facebook page, Rittenberg listed that she was originally from New York and had attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts.
