Amtrak Train With No Food Service Stuck on Tracks for Hours: Officials

An Amtrak train on its way to Penn Station was delayed on the tracks for hours on Tuesday due to severe weather in the area.

Train #654 lost power as it was traveling between Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and New York City, Amtrak spokesperson Christina Leeds told NBC News.

The delay was due to severe weather that caused power outages and left debris on the tracks, Leeds said.

Train #654, which has no food service, was coupled to train #656 and each had 50 passengers onboard, many of whom took to Twitter to air their grievances.

Both Northeast Corridor and Keystone Service were suspended between Washington, D.C. and Harrisburg Tuesday evening, but officials say both lines will operate as scheduled on Wednesday.
