Amtrak Service Resumes After Freight Derailment in Conn.

Amtrak service resumed Sunday afternoon along the busy New York-to-Boston corridor after a freight train derailment in Connecticut caused service to be suspended.

Amtrak service between New York and Washington was not affected and the Springfield, Mass., shuttle was operating as scheduled.

Passengers who paid but choose to not travel due to the service interruption may receive a refund or a voucher for another trip. Some tickets booked online that have not yet been printed can be modified or canceled on Amtrak.com or by using the free Amtrak mobile app.
