Mom Without Custody Who Took Baby from Foster Care Has Been Found

The mother and boy were found midday Wednesday

A woman who recently lost custody of her 7-month-old son and kidnapped him from a supervised visit at a foster care facility in Manhattan has been found, and the baby is OK, police said.

Marina Lopez, 25, and the baby were located Wednesday. She was arrested and charged with custodial interference.

It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney.

Authorities had issued an Amber alert after Lopez, of Queens, took the baby, Mario Danner, from the Administration for Children Services center in Harlem during the Tuesday afternoon visit, police said.

Lopez was seen leaving the facility with her son in a stroller. The visit had been scheduled form 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The boy was removed from Lopez's custody because of recent episodes of violence in her home, according to police. Lopez has bipolar disorder.

ACS did not provide details about how she got away during the visit.
