Accused Craigslist Killer Gets a “Dear John” Letter

Ex says she was the only person that ever loved Markoff

The former fiancee of a man accused of killing a New York City masseuse he met on Craigslist has ended the relationship and wants to get on with her life.

The lawyer for Megan McAllister said Tuesday his client visited Philip Markoff in jail on June 11 and told him she might never see him again. Attorney Robert Honecker Jr. says McAllister plans to attend medical school in the fall and is moving on without him.

McAllister later issued a statement through her lawyer saying she was the only person who ever loved Markoff and denying she told him she "will not or may not ever see him again."

McAllister canceled her August wedding to Markoff after he was accused in the April killing of Julissa Brisman.

Markoff was ordered held without bail after pleading not guilty Monday.
