9/11 Memorial Vandalized on Long Island

Police on Long Island are investigating the vandalism of a neighborhood 9/11 memorial.

The structure in Long Beach was toppled overnight, Bill Murphy told Newsday on Saturday that.

Murphy has tended the memorial for about a decade. It included plants, ceramic angels — and red bows around Christmastime.

He posted an angry handwritten note on a utility pole. It said the vandals are "morons" and "awful people."

A neighbor, Patricia Wagner, said she was crying her eyes out over the incident.

Murphy vows that it will be rebuilt. People are offering to help him.
