9/11 Group Wants Ground Zero Fire Case Reopened

A 9/11 group wants a full review of all the evidence from a blaze at a condemned ground zero skyscraper that claimed the lives of two firefighters.

The Skyscraper Safety Campaign and 9/11 Parents and Families of Firefighters & WTC Victims said in a statement Monday it wants the U.S. Attorney's office to reopen the case.

A construction contractor and two supervisors were acquitted of manslaughter and other charges in the 2007 blaze at the former Deutsche Bank building. The tower was heavily damaged in the Sept. 11 attacks and was being dismantled when it caught fire.

The 9/11 group says there's been no accountability for the firefighters' deaths. It says numerous violations were never reported.

It's also calling for the addition of building code amendments.
