9 Injured, Including 5 Kids, in Blaze at Bronx Building: FDNY

Nine people, including five children, were injured Sunday in a fire at a Bronx apartment building.

Two kids and two adults were seriously injured, but are in stable condition, fire officials said. The others suffered minor injuries.

A dog died in the blaze, fire officials said.

Two apartments at 1F 1100 Teller Avenue in the Concourse Village neighborhood were damaged by smoke and water, Deputy Fire Chief Gary Rocco said.

About 25 residents fled through fire escapes and were sheltered on the roof or in stairwells, Rocco said.

FDNY officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
