89-Year-Old Woman Crossing Street Struck By Car, Dies

Police say an 89-year-old woman who was struck by a car while crossing a New York City street has died.

The woman was identified as Wai Lee, of Brooklyn. She was struck Tuesday morning and died at a hospital Friday.

Police say an 81-year-old man was trying to park his car on Coney Island Avenue at Quentin Road when he inadvertently drove forward instead of in reverse and hit the woman who was walking in a crosswalk on Quentin Road. The driver, who was not identified, remained on the scene.

Police say the investigation continues.
