80-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed When Cars Collide

Police said the incident happened Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. when a car traveling on East 59th Street hit a car going north on Park Avenue

An 80-year-old man standing at a street corner was killed when he was hit by a car that came spinning toward him after a collision with another vehicle. A 62-year-old woman was injured.
 
Police said the incident happened Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. when a car traveling on East 59th Street hit a car going north on Park Avenue.
 
The impact sent the first car spinning, and it hit the pedestrians, who were standing at the corner.
 
Authorities said the man was trapped under the car. He was taken to the hospital with severe trauma, and pronounced dead. The woman was injured in the leg, and was in stable condition at the hospital.
 
Police identified the man as Rubin Baum.
