A 75-year-old woman died Friday night after she was hit by a car on Long Island, police said.
The woman was walking in the eastbound land of the Sunrise Highway in Massapequa at around 9:30 p.m. when she was struck, police said.
The woman was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a local hospital.
Authorities said the driver was not expected to face criminal charges.
