60,000-Square-Foot Food Market Set to Open in New York

New Yorkers will have another place to grab a bite - a new 60,000-square-foot marketplace that includes the first outpost of the famed Katz's Delicatessen.

DeKalb Market Hall is set to open Friday in Brooklyn, featuring 40 restaurant entrepreneurs selling everything from pickles to pho.

Jake Dell, owner of Katz's Deli, tells the New York Times it made sense to open first outpost in the market.

He says the mix of restaurants reminded him of the Lower East Side neighborhood where the original deli is located.

A Trader Joe's grocery store will share the space. There will also be two full-service restaurants: a branch of Han Dynasty and Italian restaurant Fortina.

Recently, Katz's claimed the top spot on The Daily Meal's list of the 101 Best Casual Restaurants in America for 2017.
